Clarkson carries 8 game win streak into Troy to face RPI

TROY, N.Y. — The Clarkson University women's hockey team takes an eight-game winning streak into Houston Field House on Friday, Nov. 6, when the Golden Knights face RPI at 6 p.m. in the first of two ECAC Hockey games in the Capital Region this weekend.

Clarkson (10-2-0 overall, 2-0-0 ECAC Hockey) opened conference play with two road wins last weekend, edging Harvard 4-3 on Friday before beating Dartmouth 4-1 on Saturday. Jessie Pellerin scored twice in the first period at Dartmouth, and Keira Hurry added a goal in each of the final two periods, capping the win with a shorthanded empty-netter. The Golden Knights have scored at least four goals in each of their last five games.

RPI returns to conference play after a 1-0 loss to Union on Tuesday. Reese Keating made 27 saves for the Engineers, who put 18 shots on goal in the third period but couldn't find the equalizer. That late push gives Clarkson something to account for in Troy, where an early lead would help the Golden Knights dictate the pace against a team that kept Tuesday's game within a goal.

Some storylines from this past week, Jessica Pellerin and Kate Manness earned ECAC Monthly Honors.  Kate was named the ECAC Defender of the Month and Jessie was named the ECAC Forward of the Month.  Pellerin was also named the HCA National Co-Forward of the Month. Pellierin is the leading goal scorer in the NCAA.

Clarkson is still without the services of Sara Manness and Aneta Senkova, who are both off with their respective national teams at the Women's Worlds starting in Denmark.  Manness joins Golden Knight Alums, Erin Ambrose, Ella Shelton, Renata Fast, and Nicole Gosling on Team Canada, while Haley Winn will represent the USA.  Senkova joins former Golden Knight Michaela Pejzlova on the Czech Republic team.  The Canadians opened with a 5-1 win over Sewden, Ambrose had 1 assist.  The US will play later today vs Denmark.

Friday's game will stream on ESPN+. Clarkson wraps up the weekend against Union at 3 p.m. Saturday in Schenectady.
