Hanover, NH – Jessie Pellerin scored twice in the first period and Keira Hurry added a pair of goals in the final two frames as the Clarkson University Women's Hockey team claimed a 4-1 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon.

It was the eighth straight win for the Golden Knights, who improved to 10-2 on the season and 2-0 in ECAC Hockey, while the loss for Dartmouth sent the Big Green to 2-3-1 overall and 0-2-0 in conference games.

Clarkson scored twice in the first period, both coming in the final six minutes of the frame. The first came off a rebound in front as Jessie Pellerin knocked in a rebound following the shot from the top of the slot at 14:13. It was Pellerin again less than four minutes later, though this was not the easy score like the first. Keira Hurry took a shot from the left slot that was redirected by Manon Le Scodan across the crease and Pellerin had a diving backhand to make it 2-0 at 17:59.

The Knights pushed their lead to three goals near the midway point of the frame when Keira Hurry scored on the power play, utilizing a screen from Le Scodan just outside the crease. The puck worked around from Janelle Evans and Morgan Walton, finally finding Hurry at the top of the slot, putting the score at 3-0 at 9:18 in the second.

Dartmouth responded with a goal less than a minute later. Sydney Putrah took a shot near the blue line and the rebound went directly to the stick of Addy Cowan at the left side of the crease for a score at 10:06.

Several solid saves kept the Big Green in the game in the third period, and late in the contest, when the Knights were whistled for a penalty, Dartmouth tried to cut the margin to two when it pulled its goalie midway through the power play. Hurry added her second goal of the game, scoring from about as far away as a player possibly could. Hurry gained possession behind the Dartmouth net and cleared the zone by ripping the puck off of the glass and down the ice. The wrister just happened to have enough force to go all the way down ice, staying on net, and bouncing off the post and in at 17:40, giving her both a shorthanded goal and an empty net score.

Clarkson finished with a 41-24 edge in shots on goal and was 2-for-3 on the power play while Dartmouth went 0-for-5. Kalia Pharand made 23 saves for Clarkson and Michaela Hesova had 37 stops for the Big Green.
