Clarkson Closes Out Liberty League Golf Championships in Sixth

Verona, NY - Scores were generally high on Sunday on a still damp course and the Clarkson University Golf team finished off the Liberty League Championships with a sixth-place finish at the par-72 Shenendoah Golf Course at the Turning Stone Resort. 

The Golden Knights scored 321 on Sunday to finish with a score of 780 over 45 holes. 

Senior Andrew Palmatier shot a 76 on Sunday, recording 15 pars and going one-over with a 37 on the front nine and three-over with 39 on the back. That put Palmatier's total for the weekend at 188, placing him in a tie for 17th in the field of 35 competitors. 

Ryan Makowski shot 78 on day three of the tournament, picking up a birdie on the par-three, 188-yard third hole. Even with that score on the third, Makowski was better on the back, scoring 38 in the second stretch. Makowski ended up in a tie for 22nd with a score of 192. 

Eric Spoth recorded an 83 on day three, notching birdies twice in a stretch of three holes on the back nine. Spoth had a birdie on the par-three 14th hole and then another on the short par-four 16th hole. His score of 199 over three days put him in a tie for 27th. 

Tyler Yacawych closed out Clarkson's scoring on day three with an 84, going for 42 on the front nine and back nine. He had a birdie on the tournament's longest hole, the par-five 567-yard eighth hole. Yacawych ended up with a 204, placing 33rd.

Joe Tiderencel ended the three-day championship with a 208, coming in 35th. Tiderencel had four pars on the day with an 89.
