Makowski Goes for 75 Again as Knights Finish Off Weekend at Liberty League Championships

Verona, NY – Ryan Makowski shot 75 on Sunday, four better than any of his Clarkson University Golf teammates, as the Golden Knights finished off the Liberty League Championships held at the par-72, 6763-yard Shenendoah Golf Course at Turning Stone Resort.

The Golden Knights finished in sixth place with a score of 920 (306-302-312).

Freshman Ryan Makowski carded a 75 on the final day of the Liberty League Championships, shooting 226 overall to place in a tie for 19th among the 35 golfers at the event. In the last round, he scored 35 on the front thanks to birdies on the fourth and seventh holes and then had 40 on the back nine.

Both Andrew Palmatier and Eric Spoth shot 79 on Sunday, finishing one stroke apart in total. Palmatier recorded a 230 to tie for 24th and Spoth had 231 to finish in 26th by himself. Palmatier had a 42 on the front nine but recovered with a 37 on the back, including a birdie on the 10th hole. Spoth was the reverse, scoring 37 on the front and 42 on the back, with a pair of birdies on the sixth and eighth holes near the middle of the round.

Daniel Wilson also scored a 79 on the third day of the event, closing out the championships with a three-day score of 235 (placing 30th) and also finishing off the Golden Knights' team score on day three. Wilson went without a birdie on Sunday, but did score 11 pars.

Aaron Walsh was up and down on Sunday, scoring a birdie on the eighth hole and then another on the 17th hole, but finished with an 83, shooting 41 on the front nine and 42 on the back. His three-day total of 244 put him in 33rd at the event.
