Spoth Ties for 8th at Hamilton Invitational

Rome, NY - Eric Spoth shot 77 for the Clarkson University Golf team on day two of the Hamilton Invitational, helping him finish in a tie for eighth over 36 holes at the Rome Country Club.

The Golden Knights slipped to eighth place among the 11 teams after scoring 319 on Sunday, putting them at 629 for the weekend. Clarkson will close out the fall with a tournament at Skidmore next weekend.

Spoth shot 38 on the front and 39 on the back for a 77, producing a birdie on the 395-yard par-four 5th hole to go along with 12 pars. He shot 151 for the tournament, putting in a tie for eighth among 60 golfers. Freshman Tyler Yacawych shot 79 thanks to birdies on the 8th and 16th holes, a par-four and a par-three, to finish in a tie for 21st with a two-day score of 156. Ryan Makowski ended up with an 81 on day two, picking up a birdie on number-five. He ended up with a 164 for two days, putting him 46th in the field. Like Makowski, Daniel Wilson took two strokes off his day one score, producing an 82, getting a birdie on number-nine. Wilson placed 52nd with a score of 166. Andrew Palmatier's 85 on day two was dropped out of the team scoring, but his two-day tally of 161 tied him for 38th, ahead of both Makowski and Wilson for the tournament.
