Palmatier and Ditzel Headline Clarkson Golf's Third Day at League Championships

Verona, NY – Junior Casey Ditzel shot 76 for the second straight day to help lead the Clarkson University Golf team, as the Golden Knights closed out the Liberty League Championships in sixth place at the par-72, 6763-yard Shenendoah Golf Course at the Turning Stone Resort.

The Golden Knights shot 312 on the third day of the tournament, finishing with a three-day score of 946 strokes. NYU won the tournament with a score of 867, and the Green and Gold also trailed Rensselaer (876), Skidmore (877), University of Rochester (885), and St. Lawrence (923) while finishing ahead of Hobart (965).

Ditzel carded his 76 with a 39 on the front and 37 on the back, notching 14 pars with four bogeys in the round, placing in a tie for 20th overall among the 35 competitors with a three-day score of 229. Andrew Palmatier was one shot better than Ditzel on Sunday, scoring a 75 thanks to an even-par score on the back nine. Palmatier had a birdie on the fourth hole and also had an eagle on the par-four 16th hole on the back nine. Palmatier finished with a three-day score of 241, tying for 27th in the tournament.

Zach Pilarchik was also under 80 on the third day, shooting a 78 with three birdies, going one under on the fourth, seventh, and 15th holes. Pilarchik ended up in 26th place in the tournament with a three-day score of 239.

Dale Turner ended up in 30th place in the tournament (242), scoring an 83 on the third day with a 40 on the front and 43 on the back nine. He had eight pars and also recorded back-to-back birdies on the seventh and eighth holes. Dylan Farr scored 248 overall to come in 33rd place overall, tallying 85 on the last day, and picking up birdies on the seventh and 12th holes.
