Ditzel and Bomberger Lead Clarkson Golf at Skidmore Invite

Saratoga Springs, NY – Casey Ditzel scored a team-best 76 on day two of the Skidmore Fall Invitational, helping to lead the Clarkson University Golf team to a 10th-place finish at the par-72, 6914-yard Saratoga Spa State Park Course.

The Golden Knights finished 10th among the 14 teams with 628 strokes, scoring 313 on Sunday after a round of 315 on Saturday. The Knights trailed Rensselaer's 'A' team (592), Hamilton (597), University of Rochester (602), Trinity College (606), Skidmore (608), Endicott (610), New York University (617), Rensselaer's 'B' team (622) and Williams (622) while finishing ahead of Springfield (641), Western New England (661), Salem State (662), and Westfield State (681).

Brant Bomberger had the best two-day score for the Knights, as he followed up his 76 on Saturday with a 79, recording three birdies on the front nine, with one on a par-five and two on par-fours. His tournament score of 155 putting him in a tie for 31st among the 80 golfers. Casey Ditzel was next for the Knights, as he had the best score of the day for Clarkson on the second day as he carded a 76 without the benefit of a birdie, notching 14 pars. Ditzel's two-day score of 157 placed him in a tie for 38th in the field.

Andrew Palmatier shot 80 on Sunday, one stroke more than his Saturday's performance, to finish with 159 and a tie for 42nd. His 80 on Sunday included a birdie on the par-three 15th hole. Dale Turner shot 78 on Sunday to jump 13 spots on the leaderboard, moving up for a tie for 48th with a score of 162. Turner had 10 pars overall and had birdies on back-to-back holes on the back nine, scoring one-under for both the par-three 11th hole and par-five 12th hole. Zander Poole ended up in tie for 61st after scoring 85 on Sunday, finishing the two-day event with a score of 164.
