The same five members of the Clarkson University Golf team that competed in the Spring Thaw last weekend are prepared for another early spring tournament, as the squad heads to Saratoga to compete in the annual Tim Brown Invitational, hosted by Skidmore College.

The Course: The Golden Knights and the rest of the field will be playing at the par-71 Ballston Spa Country Club.

The Five: Clarkson is running back with the same five that played in the Spring Thaw outside of Philadelphia last weekend, a tournament where the Knights tied for fifth with a two-day score of 601. Eric Spoth was the team's top scorer last weekend at 149, lowering his season average of 75.20 strokes per 18 holes in the 2025-26 season, with 14 of his 15 competitive rounds being in the 70s. Spoth played well at Ballston Spa last year, recording five birdies in his final round of the tournament to score 146. The only other Clarkson golfer to play at last year's Tim Brown Invitational is Tyler Yacawych, who was one stroke higher than Spoth at 147. Yacawych shot 155 last weekend in Pennsylvania, but his last nine holes was impressive, as he was two-under with a 34. Joining Spoth and Yacawych are Brian Secor, Joe Tiderencel, and Luke Weisiger. Secor, selected the Liberty League Rookie of the Week on Monday, is averaging 77.56 strokes per round and has seven straight outings of sub-80 golf. Tiderencel was consistent last weekend with back-to-back 76s, lowing his year average down to 78.83 in 12 rounds. Weisiger also saw his average drop to 76.40 on the season after a 151 in Pennsylvania. He is averaging 74.60 strokes over his last five competitive rounds dating back to the fall.
