Spoth and Secor Earn Liberty League Weekly Honors

Junior Eric Spoth and sophomore Brian Secor of the Clarkson University Golf team showed very little rust from the winter months as the pair earned Liberty League Weekly honors for their performance this past week in Southern Pennsylvania at the Spring Thaw Tournament, hosted by Ursinus.

Spoth was chosen as the Liberty League Performer of the Week and Secor was named the Liberty League Rookie of the Week. Spoth finished in a tie for 14th among 70 golfers in the two-day, 36-hole tournament, scoring 149. He shot 75 on Friday with a single birdie on the sixth hole and then had three birdies to score a 74 on Saturday. His performance reduced his scoring average to 75.20 strokes per 18 holes in the 2025-26 season. Secor shot 74 with four birdies on Friday, all of them coming on par-fives. He then came back with a 79 on Saturday, recording 12 pars with six on the front nine and six on the back. His two-day tally of 153 put him in a tie for 26th. That put his season average at 77.56 for the year, his first as a collegiate golfer.
