Knights visit Yale and Brown for final road trip of regular season

The top 7 spots in the ECAC Standings are jam packed with 10 points separating first thru seventh. Clarkson and Yale sit in 2nd and 3rd with just 2 points separating them, Brown is close on their heels with 32 points in 5th place.
Clarkson is pushing for the playoffs without the services of two key members but for a good reason. Manon le Scodan and Andrea Trnkova are in Milan for the Olympic Games for the next 2 weeks.

This swing thru New England marks the final road trip of the regular season and features two teams in the top 5 of the ECAC standings.  Clarkson can clinch a first round bye with two regulation wins this weekend.  An ECAC Regular Season Title is not out of reach but the Knights will need to make up the 3 point deficit to Princeton.

The Yale Bulldogs are riding the nation's longest active win streak with 11 straight victories, marking the program's longest streak since the 2022-23 season when Yale won 15 consecutive games. Since a loss to Brown on Dec. 6, 2025, the Bulldogs have posted 11 straight wins with three shutouts, outscoring opponents 48-16 during that span. Yale is ranked ninth nationally and sits third in the ECAC Hockey standings with a 19-7-0 overall record and a 13-5-0 mark in conference play. The Bulldogs have also been dominant at home, compiling an 11-2-0 record at Ingalls Rink.

Leading the charge for Yale is senior forward Jordan Ray and Junior Carina DiAntonio.  They have fueled Yale's offensive surge, leading the Bulldogs in goals and the ECAC in conference goals while riding a 13-point streak. Ray and DiAntonio have been especially impactful during the 11-game streak, combining for 17 goals and 21 assists. Yale's power play ranks second in the nation at 31.9 percent, trailing only top-ranked Wisconsin at 33.0 percent. In net, freshman Samson Frey has emerged as a steady presence. Frey earned a shutout in a 5-0 win over Sacred Heart on Nov. 28 before returning to action Jan. 2. The netminder is now 11-0 with four shutouts, a 0.97 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage.

Brown's 14 wins this season are tied for the most in a season under head coach Melanie Ruzzi with the 2024-25 season. Last year the Bears finished the season with 14 overall wins, the most since winning 15 games in the 2005-06 campaign.  Brown's 10 wins in ECAC play are the most under head coach Melanie Ruzzi since Brown earned 10 wins in the 2005-06 season. Brown has not finished better than eighth in the ECAC since 2005-06 (t-3rd).

It was quite a month of January for the Clarkson freshmen twin sisters Kate and Sara Manness.  They were named the ECAC and National Defender of the Month (Kate) and Rookie of the Month (Sara). They have both posted 10+ game point streaks which began Dec. 6, 2025. Sara's has extended to 12 games with 16 goals and ten assists, while Kate's came to an end at eleven games and included three goals and 17 assists. During the duo's combined 12-game point streak, the Clarkson Golden Knights are 9-2-1. Sara is tied for fifth in the nation with 27 assists in her first 30 collegiate contests. She is first amongst all freshmen and fifth overall with 47 points.

Sara Manness is tied for the longest goal scoring streak at 10 games in the NCAA and became the first Clarkson player in program history to score a goal in 10 consecutive games in the course of one season, separating herself from Loren Gabel's nine-game run during the 2017-18 season.  Sara is 7th in the nation in goals and 5th for points in the NCAA and leads all first year players in goals and points.

Clarkson is 5th in the NCAA in Total Team Points (302) & 5th for Goals (109), along with 4th in NCAA for Assists (193).  Clarkson is 5th in the NCAA for power play % at 29.5.

Both games will be available for stream on ESPN+.
