The Clarkson University men's hockey team opens its ECAC Hockey schedule Friday, Nov. 6, when No. 17 Union visits Cheel Arena for a 7 p.m. puck drop. The teams return to the site of their last meeting, an 8-7 Clarkson overtime win in February.

The Golden Knights (3-4-1) are coming off a two-game series with Niagara at Cheel. Hayden Reid scored late in regulation to earn Clarkson a 2-2 tie in the opener, and the Knights went on to win the shootout. Niagara took the second game 6-2 after scoring three times in just over two minutes in the first period. Sebastien Gervais and Justin Côté scored for Clarkson, which finished with a 34-19 advantage in shots on goal.  

Union arrives at 2-0-0 in league play after sweeping RPI last weekend. The Garnet Chargers scored three first-period goals in each win, and first-year forward Nathan Free scored twice in both games to extend his point streak to six. With Union having won all three games it has led after the first period this season, the opening 20 minutes will be a key stretch for Clarkson.

Friday's game will stream on ESPN+ and air on 99.3 FM. The Golden Knights are back at Cheel on Saturday to host RPI at 7 p.m.
