Ballston Spa, NY – At the midway point of the team's first tournament in six months, the Clarkson University Golf team sits in the middle of the pack at the Tim Brown Invitational, hosted by Skidmore College at the par-71 Ballston Spa Country Club.

Through 18 holes of the two-day tournament, the Golden Knights are tied for 12th among 20 teams, sitting at +19 overall. The tournament resumes at 10:00 am Sunday morning.

Sophomore Eric Spoth had the top score of the day for the Golden Knights, though the separation from one-through-five was just four strokes. Spoth, who was tied for 31st among 108 golfers on day one, scored a three-over 74, notching eight pars on the front nine and four more on the back nine. He also picked up two birdies on the back nine, going one-under on a pair of par-fives of 500 yards or more.

Freshman Tyler Yacawych was next for the Knights, scoring a 75 (t-42). The first-year collegian birdied a short par-five on the front nine and also had five more pars there before posting seven pars on the back nine, scoring a 37 on the front and a 38 on the back.

Both Andrew Palmatier and Daniel Wilson shot 77 (t-65) to round out Clarkson's scoring group, but the duo did so in completely different ways. Palmatier was consistent, recording five straight pars on the front nine and then notching a birdie on the eighth hole. At the turn, Palmatier recorded a birdie on number-11, a short par-four, ending up with a 38 on the front and 39 on the back. Wilson had pars from the first hole through the eighth before finally going for bogey on the ninth hole, scoring 36 on the front nine. He had five pars in the second stretch, recording 41 on the back.

Ryan Makowski's 78 (t-75) was dropped from the team score. He shot 38 on the front and 40 on the back, finishing with 10 pars and a birdie on a long par-four on the front nine, scoring three on the 410-yard seventh hole.
