Makowski Shoots 77 for Second Straight Day to Lead Knights at Duke Nelson Invite

Middlebury, VT – Sophomore Ryan Makowski shot a 77 for the second straight day to lead the Clarkson University Golf team, as the Golden Knights closed out their second weekend tournament of the 2024 season, competing at the Ralph Myhre Golf Course in the Duke Nelson Invitational.

The Golden Knights finished in 19th place out of 23 teams with a total of 636 strokes, scoring 320 on day one and 316 on day two.

Makowski shot 77 for the second straight day to score a 154, finishing in a tie for 40th among 120 participants in the tournament. Classmate Joe Tiderencel shaved a stroke off his score from the previous day, posting a 78 on Sunday to finish at 157, tying for 63rd overall. Senior Daniel Wilson did the same, removing one stroke from the Saturday total, and scored 80 to finish at 161 overall for a tie of 84th. First-year collegian Tyler Yacawych had the biggest improvement for the Knights, scoring an 81 on Sunday and ended up with a 166 for the two-day tournament, tying for 101st. Eric Spoth was the only Clarkson golfer to not match or decrease his score from the opening day, shooting 85 on Sunday for a tournament score of 168 and a tie for 105th.
