Two Goals in Final Minute Keep Knights Undefeated

A furious series of events in the final 4 minutes of play saw the Golden Knights preserve their undefeated record and come back from a 2 goal deficit to gain a 3-3 tie with Brown.

A wild 3rd period saw the Knights out shoot the Bears 15-4, but as they were bearing down on Brown, Brooke McQuigge was assessed a 5 minute boarding penalty which put the Knights on the PK while still trying to close the 2 goal deficit.  Jenna Goodwin would get a breakaway but clang her shot off the crossbar.  The Knights would kill off the major, and get back on the attack.  At the 16:39 mark of the period, Meadow Carman would be assessed two minor's putting the Knights on the power play for 4 minutes.  As Clarkson started to get pressure on Brown, Dom Petrie, was whistled for Interference, making it 4 on 4 again.  With 2:04 left, and then goalie pulled, Brown would take another penalty, so back on the power play, Clarkson would pull within 1 at 19:03 with a goal from Haley Winn, assisted by Nicole Gosling and Anne Cherkowski.  Then 10 seconds later, still on the power play, Nicole Gosling would tie the game up with a goal of her own, assisted by Haley Winn and Darcie Lappan.

The Knights had to fight back from a deficit that came from Brown taking a 2-1 lead after the first period and getting the only goal on the middle frame.
Despite out shooting the Bears in the 1st period 21-13, Brown got goals from Levy and Norehad to take the lead. Darcie Lappan blocked a shot at the point which she was able to collect in the neutral zone and take in for a breakaway goal.

The lone goal of the 2nd period came at 6:11 into the 2nd, when Brown scored on the power play. With the goal coming from Jade Iginla being assisted by Sam Broz and India McDadi. Increasing the Bears lead to 2 goals.

In the overtime, the fatigue for both teams started to show as the 3 on 3 left a lot of open ice to cover.  Neither team was able to score in the extra session.

Michelle Pasiechnyk would make 21 saves on the night.   Brown was 2 for 3 on the power play, while the Knights also scored 2 on 3 chances.

Tomorrow the Golden Knights will be taking on the Yale Bulldogs at 3:00pm.
