No one would question if the Clarkson Women's Hockey team had trouble with muscle soreness in their arms going into today's game, after launching 90 shot attempts at the Sacred Heart net in last nights 3-0 win.
Clarkson got 50 shots on target and converted on 3 goals from
Gabrielle David, Bailey Kirwan, &
Anne Cherkowski.
Darcie Lappan and
Paige Hull each added 2 assist apiece in the Golden Knight openers. The good news for Clarkson fans is they generated that much offensive pressure without 2 of their top 4 returning scorers in the line up and all while still holding Sacred Heart to minimal scoring chances.
Today the Knights will look to make it a weekend sweep as they face the Pioneers for game two of the series.
Next weekend, the Knights will be honoring their 6 Olympians from last winter's Beijing Games. The opportunity to get all six on campus came about very quickly, so some of the planning is still underway, but their will be a ceremony at the Saturday Oct. 1st game vs Bemidji St at 2:00 pm.
