Senior Madelyn Nowicki won both the 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly to pace the Clarkson University Swimming & Diving team on day two of the North Country Invitational held at Maxcy Hall on the campus of SUNY Potsdam.

The Golden Knights' women finished in second place with 461.5 points behind St. Michael's (580), but ahead of Norwich (315.5), Oswego State (235), and SUNY Potsdam (213). Clarkson's men also ended up in third place, the same spot the team was in at the halfway point, with 411 points, trailing St. Michael's (536.5) and Norwich (474.5) yet ahead of SUNY Potsdam (212) and Oswego State (199). Clarkson will have a weekend off and will close out the semester the first week of December when the team competes in the Don Richards Invitational at RIT.

Three of Clarkson's four relay teams finished in the third spot, save for the Golden Knights' 400 freestyle relay on the women's side, as that foursome finished with a time of 3:50.42 for second place, thanks to the grouping of Aurelia Leonard, Gabriela McSwieney, Ava Lamontagne, and Bella Triolet. Madelyn Nowicki had the best performance of the day for either side of the Knights' contingent, as she took first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 5:04.64 and then later had the top spot in the 200 butterfly in 2:27.37. Freshman Aurelia Leonard won her lone event of the weekend late in the day as she finished first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:02.78. Clarkson's only other top-three finisher for the day was Claudia Scala, who placed third in the 200 breaststroke in 2:39.54.

On the men's side, Clarkson had a number of second-place and third-place finishes, but couldn't get over the top for the top of the podium. Sophomore Michael Schroeder placed second in both the 200 butterfly (2:02.99) and the 100 backstroke (56.99), while Colin Urmaza was second in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:42.88. Tristan Miranda started the day with a third-place showing in the 1650 freestyle in 18:09.19, and Connor Tasselmyer settled for third in the 100 freestyle in 48.57 seconds. Diver Max Lempert also picked up third-place points for the Knights, scoring 139.00 in the 3-meter dive.
