Bruns Joins Clarkson Women’s Hockey Coaching Staff

The Clarkson University Women's Hockey program has announced the addition of Emily Bruns as a volunteer assistant coach for the Golden Knights.

Bruns, who most recently served as a volunteer assistant coach for the University of Maine's Women's Hockey team during the 2018-19 campaign, will be involved with all areas of the Clarkson program with emphasis on video breakdown, analytics and player development.

From September 2015 through October 2017, Bruns was part of the Chicago Blackhawks Fan Development Team.   She was an active part of her community in Chicago, including the head coach of G.O.A.L. (Get Out and Learn), which introduced street hockey fundamentals across over 80 schools. She also assisted in many events put on by the Blackhawks, including training camps and events held by the team. Bruns also worked last year for Black Bear Sports Properties (Learfield) as a property assistant in Orono, ME.

A 2015 graduate of Columbia College with a bachelor's in Management and a minor in photography, Bruns has coached for multiple levels of hockey in the Chicago area.

Bruns has also served as an assistant coach for AHIHA (USA Hockey: Deaf & Hard of Hearing) and holds certification in the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program.
