Series Mercyhurst: Clarkson has faced Mercyhurst 18 times in their history and is 6-8-4 against the Lakers. Clarkson owns a 4-3-2 record against Mercyhurst at Cheel Arena. The last two times the Golden Knights and the Lakers played were in the NCAA tournament. During the 2013-14 season Clarkson beat Mercyhurst 5-1 in the NCAA Semifinals en route to the school's first National Championship. Similarly in the 2017-18 season the Golden Knights defeated the Lakers 2-1 in overtime to advance where the Knights would win yet another title. In that game Michaela Pejzlova scored a game-tying, power-play tally in the third period to force overtime in the quarterfinal round. Elizabeth Giguere would score the overtime game-winner assisted by Pejzlova to defeat the Lakers. Eight current Golden Knights skaters have played against Mercyhurst.
