Five members of the Clarkson University Men's and Women's Hockey teams (three men, two women) have been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicator Academic All-District At-Large teams when the selections were announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletics and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Selections must have a 3.50 grade-point average or better with at least sophomore athletic and academic standing to be considered. Additionally, nominees must compete in at least 90% of athletic competitions, or start 66% of a program's games. The At-Large teams are for athletic offerings that are generally not universally offered at schools across the country.

From the Golden Knights' men's hockey team Ryan Bottrill, Tristan Sarsland and Shane Soderwall were chosen, while the Clarkson women had Sena Catterall and Keira Hurry named to the At-Large teams.

Ryan Bottrill, a senior majoring in Financial Information & Analysis, led the Golden Knights in scoring with 36 points in 38 games, registering nine goals and 27 assists.

Tristan Sarsland, a senior majoring in Financial Information & Analysis, was one of Clarkson's top defenders, recording 34 blocks at the defensive end while also contributing 16 points with six goals and 10 assists on offense.

Shane Soderwall, a junior goalie majoring in Business Administration, stood out as the team's starting goaltender in 2025-26, playing nearly 2000 minutes in the crease. He posted a 2.54 goals against average with a .905 save percentage and had two shutouts with 17 wins on the year.

Sena Catterall, who was playing as a graduate student this year and majored in Chemical Engineering prior to receiving her MBA, became Clarkson's most recent 100-point scorer. She finished the year second on the team in both points (33) and goals (17).

Keira Hurry, a junior majoring in Psychology, was consistent from the blue line once again for the Golden Knights, leading the team with 41 blocks while also pitching in 18 points with five goals and 13 assists.
