The Series: Sunday's doubleheader will be the first meeting between the two teams.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-9): The season is still young, but this year's Golden Knights certainly show differences from last year's slugging team that was much more station-to-station. Clarkson has 12 steals in as many tries as a team, a number that will certainly jump if the Knights can increase their collective .326 on-base percentage. That is just one steal fewer than last year's total of 13 in 37 games. Emily Bulone is off to a hot start for Clarkson, batting a robust .538 (14-for-26) with six extra-base hits.

Key Stats for Cortland State (6-5): Morgan Ellerbrock is off to a hot start for the Red Dragons, reaching base at a .655 clip in nine games. Some of that number is bolstered by eight walks, but she is also hitting .500 (10-for-20) with seven runs scored. Shannon Scotto is hitting just .212 on the year so far, but she has at least one RBI in five games, leading the team with eight runs batted in. The pitching staff has utilized six hurlers so far, but Olivia DiSalvo has been the most effective, striking out 12 against just two walks in 18 innings for a 1.56 earned run average.
