Nakas Named Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week

Senior Sydney Nakas enjoyed one of the largest point totals in program history for the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team on Saturday afternoon, and she was rewarded with Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week honors when the conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.

Nakas posted 18 total points over the course of three games for the Golden Knights, scoring seven goals and added 11 assists. She had seven points on two goals and five assists in a lopsided win over Bridgewater State on Tuesday and then came through with five goals and six assists in an 18-16 win over Ithaca College on Saturday. Nakas was just the third player in the past dozen seasons to record double digit points in a contest for the Golden Knights.

For the season, Nakas ranks fifth in the Liberty League in points per game (4.13) and is fourth in the conference in assists per game (2.13), having produced 33 points on 16 goals and 17 assists.

Freshman Mea Tranquilli was chosen to the Liberty League Honor Roll as well, having recorded nine groundballs and 11 caused turnovers in three contests last week.
