Waterville Valley, NH – Sophomore Edouard Brochu and senior Hannah Goetz led the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team in the MacConnell Division's final regular-season race of the year, as the Golden Knights competed in a final FIS race on Sunday at Waterville Valley Resort.

The Golden Knights' men finished second out of eight teams while the women ended up in fourth out of eight squads. Clarkson will be in Maine next weekend for the USCSA Eastern Regionals as the teams look to qualify for the USCSA National Championships, which will take place in mid-March at Whiteface Mountain outside of Lake Placid.

Brochu was the top skier for the Knights for the first time since the opening weekend of the campaign, placing 21st overall out of 109 skiers in 2:05.43. Freshman Gavin Ebert, who has frequently seen his name at the top of Clarkson's results this winter, did not finish his runs, but the Knights' depth allowed them to stick in second place in the team standings. Classmate James Tucker was second for the Green and Gold, taking 36th in 2:08.58, and Jackson Knobloch rounded out Clarkson's team time with a combined time of 2:09.11, good enough for 39th. Had either of the latter two skiers faltered, Aleksa Lalic's time of 2:09.45, which placed him 43rd, would have kept Clarkson in second. Pedro Gonzalez also took 50th (2:11.74) and Reed Martin was 53rd (2:12.21), both finishing in the top half of the field.

On the women's side, Hannah Goetz ended up in 19th place out of 73 skiers with a time of 2:14.77, helping her secure a spot in the MacConnell Division All-Stars this year. Parker Seitzer was also in the top half of the field, taking 36th in 2:23.00, while Lily Rogers was just two spots lower in 38th, finishing in 2:23.56 to close out Clarkson's team time. Charlotte Talbot (43rd, 2:28.03) and Kyla Butler (45th, 2:31.37) weren't much further down the list. Elyse Donaghue did not finish her first run.
