Carrabassett Valley, ME – Recovering from an uneven Saturday, the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team posted a pair of top-four finishes in the slalom at the USCSA Eastern Regionals held at Sugarloaf Mountain.

The Golden Knights' women finished second out of 14 complete teams, roughly five seconds behind Castleton but a second over third-place Babson. Clarkson's men finished fourth out of 16 teams as the top skiers were evenly distributed through the top squads.

Everyone kept their skis on Sunday in the women's race after three of the five did not finish the giant slalom on Saturday, and the expected results followed. Elyse Donaghue finished sixth out of 70 skiers on Sunday, closing out two runs with a time of 1:26.92. One spot behind Donaghue was her teammate and classmate Hannah Goetz, as she took seventh in 1:27.26. The Golden Knights' team time was closed out by LilyAnn Fisher, as she finished 10th with a time of 1:28.74, just ahead of Ariana Welter, who took 11th in 1:29.49, following up her giant slalom win from Saturday. Parker Seitzer was nearly in the top-third as well, coming in 23rd place with a time of 1:33.65.

The Golden Knights' men had two skiers in the top 10 and were in good position for a win in the slalom, but so did a number of other teams as it was a very even race among the top six teams, specifically the top four, which were separated by barely three seconds. Freshman Aleksa Lalic was Clarkson's top performer on Sunday, finishing fifth out of 79 skiers with a collective time of 1:25.47, going for eighth in the first run and fourth in the second run. Sophomore Edouard Brochu was ninth overall in 1:26.88 and Reed Martin took 22nd in 1:29.25 to close out Clarkson's team time of 4:21.60. James Tucker was next for the Knights, placing 40th overall in 1:41.45, while Jackson Knobloch did not finish his second run after having the fifth fastest time in the opening run.
