Loudonville, NY - Leading the field just short of the halfway point of Monday's round, the Clarkson University Golf team slipped in the latter half of its one-day tournament in the tightly contested RPI Invitational, finishing sixth among 17 teams at Shaker Ridge Country Club.

The Golden Knights ended up in sixth with score of 319 strokes, 10 behind first place Skidmore and nine back of the host RPI, but just off the tallies of NYU (317), St. Lawrence (318), and Farmingdale State (318). The Green and Gold finished ahead of Nazareth (321), Hamilton (324), SUNY Delhi (325), Skidmore 'B' (328), Russell Sage (331), Farmingdale State 'B' (332), Mt. St. Mary (334), Bishop (336), Springfield (337), MCLA (343), and William Paterson (370).

Senior Luke Weisiger posted the top score for the Golden Knights, shooting 39 on the front nine and 38 on the back. He was one-under through the first five holes before falling off the pace, but concluded his round with another birdie to end up with a 77, three strokes off the pace of the individual winner and good enough for a tie for eighth in the field of 96 golfers.

Junior Tyler Yacawych shot 78 on the day, scoring 40 on the front an 38 on the back, picking up a birdie on the par-3, 143-yard fourth hole and then another birdie on the par-5, 513-yard 13th hole. He ended the tournament tied for 14th.

No other Clarkson golfer finished below 80, as both Eric Spoth and Tyler Burchett finished with 82 to tie for 36th in the field and closing out the Knights' tem score. Spoth shot 36 on the back nine, but struggled on the front with a 46. Burchett scored similarly, with a 38 on the front and 44 on the back. Sam Schultz had his score dropped from the team tally after carding an 85, tying for 62nd. Senior Ryan Makowski, playing as an individual outside of the team scoring, shot 83 in his first competitive round of 2026 after missing the spring and all previous fall tournaments. He tied for 48th overall.
