A one-day tournament awaits the Clarkson University Golf team on Monday as the fall portion of the schedule winds down with only two tournaments left on the October slate, this one hosted by Rensselaer at the Shaker Ridge Country Club.

The Team: Last year's tournament was a two-day affair, with Eric Spoth posting the lowest score at 154, carding 73 on the first day and 81 on the second day. Tyler Yacawych had the best second round score for the Knights with a 76 and produced 156 overall. That duo is one of four golfers posting scoring averages below 75 this fall, led by Tyler Burchett (72.88 strokes per 18 holes) and followed closely by Luke Weisiger (74.13), Spoth (74.25), and Tyler Yacawych (74.88). The fifth member of the scoring team is Sam Schultz, who played last week at Oswego and has a 78.33 scoring average through six competitive rounds this fall. Playing as an individual is senior Ryan Makowski, who is returning from an injury suffered last winter prior to the spring season, making this his first competitive round in nearly a year. Makowski produced consistent scores in his first two-and-a-half seasons, notching a career scoring average of 76.63 strokes per 18 holes in more than 50 rounds and notching scoring averages between 76.44 and 76.92 strokes from his freshman through junior campaigns.
