Andover, NH – In a repeat of the last race on Tuesday, Gavin Ebert and Elyse Donaghue had the top times for the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team, as the Golden Knights competed at the Babson Carnival held at Proctor Ski Area.

The Green and Gold men placed second out of eight teams in the MacConnell Division while the women took fourth out of eight teams. Another slalom race awaits tomorrow to close out the weekend.

Ebert was in 16th after his first run and nearly placed inside the top 10 for his second run to finish 13th overall out of 123 slalom skiers with a time of 1:28.59. Sophomore Edouard Brochu was next for the Knights, taking the 27th spot overall in 1:30.35 and then Jackson Knobloch closed out Clarkson's team scoring by coming in 35th place in 1:31.70. Had Knobloch faltered, Aleksa Lalic's 36th-place showing in 1:31.86 would have kept Clarkson in the runner-up spot among the Mac-Division squads.

Four other Clarkson competitors completed both runs, with James Tucker taking 45th (1:33.54), Noah Marino placing 46th (1:34.13), Adin Freeman coming in 57th (1:38.38), and Reed Martin finishing 61st (1:39.77). Pedro Gonzalez and Colin Cotter each finished their first runs, but skied out in the second while Cole Rodman and Braden Kruk did not finish their opening trips down the hill.

Each of the Clarkson women were faster in their second runs on Friday and each ended up with a better placement in those respective turns. Senior Elyse Donaghue was the top competitor for the Knights, finishing in 34th place out of 92 skiers with a time of 1:38.42. Classmates Ariana Welter and Hannah Goetz were not far behind in regards to time or placement, with Welter taking 38th in 1:39.57 and Goetz taking the 41st spot in 1:40.67 to close out Clarkson's team time. Parker Seitzer was in the 49th spot in 1:45.54, Charlotte Talbott was one spot lower in 50th in 1:46.14, and Kyla Butler took 59th in 1:52.28.
