Sunday River, ME – Senior Elyse Donaghue and freshman Gavin Ebert recovered from falls on Monday to be the top skiers for the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team on Tuesday, as the Golden Knights performed well on day two of the Brown Carnival held at Sunday River Resort.

The Golden Knights' men finished in second place out of the eight teams in the MacConnell Division, while Clarkson's women also edged up a spot from yesterday, taking third out of eight divisional squads on Tuesday.

Gavin Ebert was in 24th after the first run, but his time in the second run was the 13th fastest to vault him up to 17th place overall among the 109 skiers in the giant slalom, finishing with a collective time of 2:16.86. Sophomore Edouard Brochu, who led Clarkson in the slalom yesterday, took 22nd overall with a time of 2:18.73, and then Jackson Knobloch closed out the Knights' scoring trio by finishing 25th in 2:20.24. Had Knobloch faltered, the Knights still would have placed second overall as freshman Aleksa Lalic ended up in 29th with a time of 2:21.21. Also in the top half of the field were James Tucker (2:22.05, 31st), Colin Cotter (2:23.38, 34th), Reed Martin (2:23.45, 35th), and Pedro Gonzalez (2:24.85, 38th). Noah Marino was the lone skier on the men's side to not finish.

Clarkson's women also had a solid day despite two of the top five not finishing. Ariana Welter did not finish her first run and LilyAnn Fisher was 15th overall after the first trip down the hill, but she was unable to complete her second run. Elyse Donaghue was Clarkson's top performer from start to finish, placing 10th in the field of 77 skiers with a two-run time of 2:27.99. Classmate Hannah Goetz placed 21st in 2:33.46, and Parker Seitzer ended the scoring three for the Green and Gold by taking 31st place in 2:44.35. Hannah Nolett was in the exact middle of the field, taking 39th with a time of 2:57.07.
