Schroeder in Top 10 Four Times at Middlebury Invite

Middlebury, VT – Senior Michael Schroeder had the top time among Clarkson University Swimmers & Divers in four separate events on Saturday as the Golden Knights competed in the final two sessions of the Middlebury Invitational.

Schroeder was busy with two top-10 finishes in each of the sessions of the non-scoring meet, placing fifth in the 400 individual medley (4:30.35) and seventh in the 100 backstroke in the morning, while then taking eighth in the 200 backstroke (2:03.31) and third in the 200 butterfly (2:04.15) in the afternoon stretch. The other top performance of the day came from Casey Everett, who came in fourth in the 500 freestyle in 4:52.08, with Gavin Cibelli matching that finish by taking fourth in the 3-meter dive (341.45 points).

Calvin Woolfolk took sixth in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.22) and then placed seventh in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.05) later on in the day. Tristan Miranda also came in sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:52.42) while both Landon Colby and Andrew Sypko ended up with eighth-place finishes. Colby finished the 100 butterfly in 54.01 and Sypko closed the 100 freestyle in 50.24.

On the women's side, Evelyn Vieira had the top score for the day, placing fourth in the 1-meter dive with 327.90 points. Among the swimmers, Gabriela McSwieney scored the top times for Clarkson swimmers in two events by taking eighth in the 500 freestyle (5:27.90) and 30th in the 200 freestyle (2:03.29), as did Katelyn Otis when she took seventh in the 400 individual medley (5:26.32) and 22nd in the 100 breaststroke (1:30.51). Aurora Zary also placed 16th in the 100 backstroke (1:04.87), Fiona Reilly was ninth in the 200 backstroke (2:20.51), Ava Lamontagne came in 18th in the 100 freestyle (58.15), and Emma Chase recorded an eighth-place showing in the 200 breaststroke (3:13.25).
