Wilmington, NY - Senior Sam Hayden took fourth overall in the slalom out of 97 finishers to lead the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team to its second podium slot of the week as the Golden Knights placed third among 26 teams on the fourth day of the USCSA National Championships held at Whiteface Mountain.

With their third-place showing, the Golden Knights concluded the week in third overall among 27 teams. Clarkson will compete in the dual slalom tomorrow morning, but those points do not count towards the standings.

Hayden was just .31 seconds off of the podium as an individual, finishing his two runs with a time of 1:38.44, good enough for fourth in the field. His first run had him in the third spot, but his second trip down the hill was sixth-fastest. Clarkson's next three skiers had better second runs, helping the Knights vault up the standings. Jackson Knobloch ended up in 16th overall in 1:42.55, placing 21st in the first run and 13th in the second. Reed Martin took 21st in 1:45.18, taking the 30th spot in his opening run and then 19th in his second, with his time closing out Clarkson's team time. Aristotle Ninos came in 28th in 1:48.04 and Josh Jusiak was 40th in the field with a time of 1:52.47.

In the overall standings, Hayden was the runner-up, coming in second out of 138 total skiers. Knobloch and Martin were also in the top 20, placing 15th and 17th, respectively. Despite skiing in just one event, Ninos was 72nd overall while Jack Donaldson, who participated in the giant slalom on Wednesday, was 88th overall. Jusiak ended up in 81st overall, with his placement slipping due to a fall on Wednesday.
