Hancock, VT - Sam Hayden came up just short of recording NCAA points for the second straight day, as the senior on the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team placed 35th in the giant slalom at the NCAA Eastern Regionals, hosted by Middlebury College.

Hayden's first run saw him finish with a time of 57.96, which ranked 35th among the 85 participants, and his second trip down the slope was 1:01.80, which was also 35th in the field, giving him a combined time of 1:59.76 for the giant slalom. For the second straight day, sophomore Elyse Donaghue fell short of qualifying for the second run, skiing as one of 76 skiers on the women's side for the giant slalom.

The Clarkson University Alpine Ski team will participate at the USCSA National Championships the first week of March when the team heads to familiar ground, Whiteface Mountain in Lake Placid, NY.
