Ithaca, NY – For the third straight day, a Clarkson University Swimming & Diving mark fell, as Calvin Woolfolk topped a four-year-old program record in the 100 breaststroke to highlight day three of the Liberty League Championship meet, hosted by Ithaca College.

The Golden Knights' men leapfrogged Skidmore College in the standings, moving up to fourth place out of the 10 teams with 546 points, just two ahead of the Thoroughbreds. Clarkson's women have now accumulated 265 points, putting them in eighth place out of the 10 squads.

Day Three Liberty League Championships

The day opened with the 200 butterfly as four men and one woman advanced to the finals on Friday evening. Michael Schroeder took 12th overall with a time of 1:56.54 and Landon Colby closed in 14th place in 1:56.95 as the pair competed in the 'B' finals. In the 'C' finals, Bradley Beall and Casey Everett finished back-to-back, with Beall placing 21st in 2:06.32 and Everett in 22nd with a time of 2:06.99. For the women, Rachel Mietlicki participated in the 'C' finals, finishing 24th overall in 2:37.73, which was more than six seconds faster than her preliminary time in the morning qualifying.

Just one swimmer made the finals for the 100 backstroke, as Mason Cartier made it into the 'B' heat, placing 15th overall in 55.58 seconds. Clarkson's top swimmer on the women's side was Bella Triolet, as she placed 26th (1:04.56), just missing the finals.

The Knights had five men in the finals in the 100 breaststroke, with Woolfolk the highlight of that event for the Green and Gold. After qualifying for the 'B' finals with a time of 58.70 seconds in the prelims, Woolfolk shaved close to a second off his finals time, taking the top spot in the second heat with a time of 57.95 seconds, topping the time that Johnny Magnuson produced (58.33) at the 2020 Liberty League Championships. Matthew Sitarek (15th, 1:00.23) and Colin Urmaza (16th, 1:00.34) also picked up points in the 'B' finals, while Andrew Sammons (18th, 59.77) and Daniel Russotti (22nd, 1:01.20) performed well in the 'C' finals.  For the women, only Ava Lamontagne qualified for the 'C' finals, taking 20th with a time of 1:11.73.

Clarkson's top relay in the 800 freestyle finished fifth, as Owen White, Landon Colby, Colin Cordy, and Gavin Stuhler combined for a time of 7:06.80. For the women, Maria Nenadic, Ava Lamontagne, Shannon Glor, and Gabriela McSwieney combined to earn seventh-place points with a time of 8:06.78.
