Hayden In Top 30 in Slalom at NCAA Eastern Regionals

Hancock, VT - Senior Sam Hayden of the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team finished 29th in the slalom on the first day of the NCAA Eastern Regionals, hosted by Middlebury College.

Hayden was 20th after the first run to easily qualify for run number-two. His first trip down the hill took 48.47 seconds, while the second run was 49.53, putting him at 1:38.00 and giving him two NCAA points in the process. He placed 29th overall among 84 participants in the slalom.

Elyse Donaghue was one of 77 women competing on Friday, but she did not make the cut for the second run down the hill.

Both skiers will participate in the giant slalom on Saturday, with the first run slated to start at 9:00 am.
