Carrabassett Valley, ME - Senior Sam Hayden picked up his second win of the season for the Clarkson University Alpine Ski team, this one in the slalom at the USCSA Eastern Regionals held at Sugarloaf Mountain.

The Golden Knights' men finished in third place among 16 teams at the USCSA Eastern Regionals, with their best three finishing with a time of 4:34.19. Clarkson's women ended up in 11th out of 16 teams as two of their skiers could not finish both runs.

Hayden finished first among 82 skiers, as once again a number of skiers had trouble finishing both trips down the hills with just 52 crossing the line twice. Hayden's first run was 42.04 seconds, good enough for third in the opening race, and his second run was 44.73 seconds, the second fastest. The two runs combined for 1:26.77, winning by .28 seconds. Reed Martin finished in 10th place overall with a time of 1:32.28, ending his first run with the 16th fastest time and the second with the eighth best time. Aristotle Ninos also was in the top 20 in 1:35.14, taking 20th. Josh Jusiak had the 11th fastest time in the first run, but did not finish his second trip down the hill, while Jackson Knobloch came up short in his opening run.

On the women's side, there wasn't much room for error with Hannah Goetz out, especially when Elyse Donaghue did not finish her first run. Kylie Brino ended up in 23rd place out of 75 skiers in the field, finishing in 1:48.86. Kyla Butler was next for the Knights in 46th place with a time of 2:25.01. Isabelle Pelkey finished her first run, but did not make it down the hill in her second, pushing the Knights out of the top 10.
