Canton, NY – Senior Michael Schroeder won three events as the Clarkson University Swimming & Diving teams split its dual meet with St. Lawrence University on Friday afternoon.

The Golden Knights' men won going away 198-47, while Clarkson's women came up short 160-127 against the Saints. There will be little break for the Knights with the team hitting the road to take on Oswego State Saturday afternoon.

Schroeder won all three of his starts, first taking the top spot in the 100 backstroke with a time of 55.84 seconds and then later claiming first in the 200 backstroke in 2:04.55. Schroeder than finished off his trio of victories by winning the 100 butterfly in 54.17 seconds.

A few other Clarkson swimmers won multiple events as well. Casey Everett picked up victories in both of the distance freestyle events, coming in first in the 1000 freestyle in 10:20.95 and later in the 500 freestyle in 5:01.30. Andrew Sammons won both of the breaststroke races, hitting the pad first in the 100 in 1:02.18 and then placing first in the 200 in 2:17.27. Owen White would have had two victories, taking first in the 200 freestyle (1:53.32) and also having the best time in the 200 individual medley (2:09.09), though that event he swam as an exhibition. Carter Lancto had a similar day, winning the 3-meter (199.13) and having a score of 203.78 in the 1-meter, but participating as an exhibition.

Landon Colby (200 butterfly, 2:07.05), Gavin Stuhler (50 freestyle, 21.96), and Andrew Sypko (100 freestyle, 50.66) also each won individual races. Clarkson's foursome of Schroeder, Sammons, Colby, and Stuhler combined for first-place points in the 200 medley relay (1:41.92).

On the women's side, Aurora Zary won a pair of events in her Clarkson swimming debut. Swimming in a collegiate dual meet for the first time since she is also a member of the Knights' women's soccer team, Zary won the 100 backstroke (1:04.45) and 200 backstroke (2:17.82), winning the former event by 1.82 seconds and the latter by 6.06 seconds. Evelyn Vieira also received first-place points for both of the dives, winning the 1-meter with 219.76 points and the 3-meter with 210.46 points.
