Penney and Szwagulinski Named USILA All-Americans, Penney to Play in Senior North/South Game

Graduate student Bryan Penney and junior Matt Szwagulinski of the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team were chosen as United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III All-Americans on Wednesday, as the organization announced its selections on Wednesday afternoon.

Penney and Szwagulinski, both named Honorable Mention All-Americans, are the first Golden Knights to be chosen as USILA All-Americans since the 2019 season when defenseman Liam St. Croix earned the honor. Penney is the first Clarkson midfielder to earn the honor since Ryan St. Croix in 2017.

Additionally, Bryan Penney was picked to play in the annual North/South Senior All-Star Game on Friday, May 26th at Cabrini University.

A Liberty League First-Team All-Star, Penney led the Golden Knights with 35 goals and ranked second on the team in total points with 39. He was also fourth on the team in both groundballs (35) and caused turnovers (12). Penney ranked eighth in the Liberty League in goals per game (2.19 gpg).

A Liberty League Second-Team All-Star, Szwagulinski was one of the top defenders in the conference and a headliner for the one of the best defenses in the country. He posted 50 groundballs and 25 caused turnovers, with the latter figure leading the team and ranking sixth in the conference per game (1.56 ctpg).
