Knights Split Second Dual Meet of Season at SLU

Canton, NY - Connor Tasselmyer, Michael Schroeder, and Tristan Miranda each won multiple events on the men's side as the Clarkson University Swimming & Diving team split its dual meet at St. Lawrence on Saturday, with the Golden Knights' men earning a 193-43 win and the Clarkson women falling 170-103.

The Golden Knights will participate in another dual meet next weekend, hosting Skidmore College on Saturday at Fuller Pool.

Despite swimming several events at the conclusion of the meet as exhibitions, the Golden Knights cruised past an undermanned Saints' team. Connor Tasselmyer won both the 50 freestyle (21.71) and 100 freestyle (50.68) while also swimming on the winning 400 medley relay team (3:47.93) alongside Mason Cartier, Colin Urmaza, and Michael Schroeder, as well as the top timed 400 freestyle relay (exhibition) with Owen White, Andrew Sypko, and Gavin Stuhler. Schroeder also won a pair of events, taking the top spot in the 100 backstroke (56.78) and 200 backstroke (2:08.52), while Miranda picked up first-place finishes in the 200 freestyle (1:52.30) and 500 freestyle (5:14.90). Other winners for the Knights were Casey Everett (1000 freestyle, 10:52.40), Andrew Sammons (100 breaststroke, 1:03.78), and Colin Urmaza (200 breaststroke, 2:23.88). Landon Colby (100 butterfly, 55.28) and Owen White (200 individual medley, 2:07.32) both had the top times in their events as well, but the spots were indicated as exhibitions. Carter Lancto had the top scores in the diving events for Clarkson, scoring 143.70 in the 3-meter and 174.90 in the 1-meter.

On the women's side, Clarkson had a number of runner-up spots, but Bella Triolet came through with a pair of victories. The senior won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:20.75 and later hit the pad first in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.54. Paige Cutler recorded the top score in both of the diving events, producing 149.17 in the 1-meter and 154.80 in the 3-meter.
