The Series: The two teams had never met prior to 2011, but have since met six times with Clarkson holding a narrow 3-2-1 advantage. Clarkson saw a three-game unbeaten streak snapped last year when the Red Dragons came from behind to down the Golden Knights, 2-1.

Key Stats for Clarkson (2-0-0): Sophomore Chloe Hodge was the team's lone goal scorer in last year's contest, and she has an assist in the early going of 2022. Sarah Kohls is off to a hot start with six points on two goals and two assists. The senior captain helped on Angelina Fahrenkrug's goal in the season-opening win over SUNY Potsdam and then posted two goals before assisting on Emily Davis's header in a 3-1 victory over Colby-Sawyer College on Sunday. Molly DiCaprio made seven saves against the Red Dragons last season and has five saves through two contests thus far in 2022.

Key Stats for Cortland State (1-0-1): The Red Dragons were busy offensively against SUNY Delhi in their season opener, scoring eight times with a 27-2 advantage in shots, though Saturday's 1-1 tie against Rochester was more evenly matched. Katie Cosenza leads the team in scoring in the early going with five points thanks to a pair of goals and one assist, while Jaden Galluzzo, who scored the game-tying goal against the Golden Knights last season, has two goals so far this year. All told, Cortland already has seven different goal scorers thanks to its lopsided win against Delhi. Kristen Spendal has seen three-quarters of the minutes in the Cortland goal in 2022, having made four saves and allowing a single goal in 13 shots faced.
