Middlebury, VT – Despite shaving 13 strokes off the previous day's score, the Clarkson University Golf team was unable to move up in the team rankings at the Duke Nelson Invitational on day two, finishing off the 38th annual tournament in 18th place among 24 squads at the par-71 Ralph Myhre Golf Course.

Clarkson was tied for 15th on the day with a score of 311, which was enough to break a tie for 18th after the opening day of the event.

After struggling with an 85 on the first day, Andrew Palmatier almost single-handedly change the Clarkson team score, shooting a three-over 74. He began the day with a bogey on 14 and actually was one-over on three of his first five holes, but over the final 13 holes he played even, recording 11 pars and notching a birdie on the par-three 12th hole.

Dale Turner, who also shot 85 on the first day, shaved off nine strokes in his second round, shooting 76 with 13 pars. Alexander Poole shot 80, scoring 42 on the back and 38 on the front, with 10 pars. Brant Bomberger, who led the team with a 77 on the first day, scored 81 with 11 pars. Casey Ditzel also shot 81 with nine pars.

Bomberger finished with a score of 158 to tie for 62nd in the field of 124 golfers. He was followed by Palmatier, who tied for 68th with two rounds combining for 159. Turner was tied for 78th with Ditzel, as each shot 161, and Poole finished tie for 86th with a score of 162.
