Zoeller Picked as CoSIDA Academic All-American

Olivia Zoeller of the Clarkson University Softball team earned plenty of accolades over the course of her four seasons with the Golden Knights, but her highest achievement yet came on Tuesday afternoon when she was selected a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Zoeller, who posted a 3.63 grade-point average over her first seven semesters at Clarkson while majoring in Electrical Engineering, was picked in a national vote as a CoSIDA Academic All-American Second-Team member, becoming the softball program's first Academic All-American. She joins Ana Witkowski (2019, At-Large), Kate Isaksen (2018 and 2019, Volleyball), Madison Shea (2018, Basketball), Shea Tiley (2017, At-Large), Christine Wright (2015 and 2016, Lacrosse), Vanessa Gagnon (2014, At-Large), and Erika Chin (2013, Volleyball) as other female student-athletes at Clarkson to be named to the CoSIDA Academic All-American teams in the past decade.

Zoeller's resume is filled with honors, including three Liberty League All-Star selections and three Liberty League awards, including Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Year (2019), Liberty League Pitcher of the Year (2021), and Liberty League Co-Pitcher of the Year (2022). She has also been chosen as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Region III All-Star twice. Zoeller was also named All-ECAC Honorable Mention in 2022.

The four-year starter ranked highly among the national leaders in numerous pitching categories, ranking 18th in earned run average (1.18), 14th in hits per seven innings (4.17), 33rd in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.67), 47th in total strikeouts (140), and 8th in strikeouts per seven innings (11.0).

Over the course of three-full seasons and an abbreviated 2020 at Clarkson, Zoeller finished her career with 461 strikeouts in 350.1 innings and a career earned run average of just 1.50.
