The Clarkson University Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Lexi Smalarz as assistant coach for the Golden Knights' Softball program.
Smalarz, who graduated from Purdue University-Fort Wayne in 2021 with a degree in Organizational Leadership while minoring in Criminal Justice, spent four seasons with the Division I Mastodons in northern Indiana. She played in 135 games, including 113 starts, most of which came at third base. She fielded .917 at the hot corner while contributing 50 hits, 27 runs, 14 extra-base hits, 20 runs batted in, and 8 stolen bases to the Mastodons' offense.
A native of Chicago, IL, Smalarz achieved Summit League and Horizon League Academic honors all four years at Purdue-Fort Wayne, and was a member of the school's chapter of Chi Alpha Sigma in recognition of high academic and athletic achievements. Â
