Golden Knights Welcome Nine Newcomers to Women's Hockey Program

7/17/2019 6:41:00 AM

The Clarkson University Women's Hockey team welcomes in one of largest group of newcomers in the program's 17-year history as nine incoming Golden Knights will add talent and depth to the Green and Gold roster in 2019-20.

Head Coach Matt Desrosiers, along with assistant coaches Britni Smith and Tony Maci bring in four forwards, three defensemen and two goaltenders to join a roster that includes 15 letterwinners from last year's team, which skated to a 30-8-2 overall record capped off by the ECAC Hockey Championship Tournament title and another showing at the NCAA Frozen Four.

Freshmen Gabrielle David and Brooke McQuigge along with senior transfers Caitrin Lonergan and Kayla Friesen will help bolster the Clarkson offense, which has been one of the most prolific in the nation in recent years. A stingy Golden Knight blueline will only get better with the addition of freshmen Lauren Bernard, Steph Markowski and Emily Wisnewski. Clarkson will maintain its strength in the crease with freshman Marie Dedert and junior transfer Amanda Zeglen providing skill and depth.

Below is an alphabetical list of the Golden Knights recruits:
