Three seniors added to their list of student-athlete accomplishments on Friday as Thomas Conroy of the Clarkson University Golf team and Charles Maitland and Ana Witkowski of the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team were named as Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic At-Large All-District 3 selections.

The At-Large teams are a collective from sports that do not have their own specific award from CoSIDA, and include double-digit athletic offerings, making it an even more difficult threshold to reach. All three will now advance to the CoSIDA National ballot for Academic All-American consideration.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that at least one Clarkson University student-athlete has earned CoSIDA Academic At-Large All-District honors. In that stretch, four student-athletes have also gained CoSIDA Academic All-American honors (Vanessa Gagnon, 2014, Women's Hockey; Christian Perryman, 2014, Men's Alpine Skiing; Christine Wright, 2015 and 2016, Women's Lacrosse; Shea Tiley, 2017, Women's Hockey).

Conroy was picked to the Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District team for the second straight year thanks to a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average in Electrical Engineering. Conroy was chosen as a Liberty League First-Team All-Star after averaging 76.58 strokes per 18 holes during his senior year. He finished second at the Liberty League Championships with a score of 230 over three days.

Maitland, who had a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average in Engineering & Management, was a consistent title contender at the USCSA Nationals for the Nordic Ski squad. In 2019, he finished fourth overall by placing second in the Freestyle Sprint and fifth in both the 7.5K Classic and 15K Freestyle. He finished either second or third in every race during the 2019 regular season.

Witkowski, who also posted a 3.99 cumulative grade-point average in Biomolecular Science, saved her best for last in 2019. After finishing second or third during most races in the regular season, she won the 7.5K Classic, Freestyle Sprint, and the 15K Freestyle while also helping the Clarkson Women's Team Relay to a first place finish at the USCSA Nationals, placing her easily in first among the 38 skiers overall.
