With the six playoff teams already established, the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team and several other teams are fighting for seeding spots and hosting rights. The Golden Knights will try to keep their momentum going when they take on Rensselaer this Saturday in Troy, NY.

The Series: RPI leads the series 31-24 all-time, but the Golden Knights have held the advantage in the past dozen years, winning eight of 12 meetings. The two teams have split in the last four, with the Engineers gaining a 12-11 win last season thanks to three goals in the final 3:48 for a come-from-behind victory.

Key Stats for Clarkson (8-5, 3-3 Liberty League): Junior Derek Beatty ranks second on the team in both groundballs (34) and caused turnovers (14) and enjoyed a big game last year against the Engineers, scooping up six groundballs. Classmate Conor Bartlett also produced a solid game against RPI in 2018, scoring four points with two goals and two assists. Bartlett leads the team in scoring this year with 46 points thanks to 27 goals and 19 assists, and his efforts have been bolstered by the emergence of junior Pierce Currie, who ranks second in the conference in goals per game with 2.90 per contest. Despite having missed three games, Currie leads Clarkson with 29 goals.

Key Stats for Rensselaer (10-3, 4-2 Liberty League): The Engineers ranks second in the conference in offense with 14.84 goals per game. Three members of the team rank in the top five in the Liberty League in points per game. JT Kelly is first (5.00 ppg), Owen Putman is third (4.38 ppg) and Cooper Urban places fifth (3.92 ppg). Putman's 2.85 goals per game are third in the league and Kelly's 2.54 assists per contest are the top figure in the conference. Defensively, Keaton Ackerman leads the Engineers with 30 caused turnovers, and his 2.31 per game in that category is the best figure in the Liberty League.
