After three successful results in non-league play, the Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team will face its biggest challenge of the young season when the Golden Knights open up Liberty League play against third-ranked RIT on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

Live Stats/Live Video

The Series: Clarkson trails in the all-time series against RIT, 15-29, with the Tigers winning 10 of 11 matchups since joining the Liberty League in 2012. The two teams have met up four times in the conference playoffs with the Tigers winning each time. Clarkson is the only team to beat RIT in Liberty League play since 2012.

Key Stats for Clarkson (3-0): The Golden Knights are off to their best offensive start since 1989, scoring 50 goals against three SUNY schools in the first week of the season. In that stretch, the Knights have outshot opponents 151-71 and won the battle on the loose balls (107-75) while forcing 31 turnovers than they have committed (88-57). Junior Conor Bartlett became Clarkson's 28th member of the 100-point club on Tuesday thanks to a six-point outing, and he currently leads the team in scoring with 15 points (9-6-15). Classmate Pierce Currie is the team's leader in goals (10) and fellow junior Liam St. Croix is the team's top man on groundballs (10). Sophomore Kevin Dyckman continues to post solid numbers in the crease for the Knights with a 4.31 goals against average and .593 save percentage.

Key Stats for RIT (3-0): The Tigers have dominated the Liberty League since joining the conference in the 2012 season, losing only twice to conference foes in that stretch (Rensselaer 2012, Clarkson 2017), and RIT has reached the NCAA Division III Semifinals or National Championship game in five of the past six years. The Tigers are hitting opponents hard on offense, to the tune of 18 goals per game so far, thanks to a diverse attack that has 12 different players with two or more goals scored this year. Ryan Barnable leads the team in scoring with 14 points (5-9-14) and Cam Isaac is second with 13 points (12-1-13). That duo combined for 90 points (45-45-90) last year. The Tigers are winning close to 70 percent of their faceoffs (61-for-88) with Landon Nolta (35-for-49) and Nick Montemorano (24-for-35) headlining the effort.
