Brosseau and Conroy Earn Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Honors

Sophomore Devin Brosseau and junior Thomas Conroy joined the lengthy list of Clarkson University Student-Athletes to earn Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-District awards as each picked up their first At-Large team honors when the organization announced its honorees on Thursday afternoon.

Brosseau, a sophomore forward for the Clarkson Men's Hockey program, gained First-Team All-District 1 honors on the Division I side while Conroy, a junior for the Clarkson Golf team, was picked First-Team All-District 3 among Division III selections. At-Large selections are for sports that do not have their own Academic All-District teams, including (for men's sports) lacrosse, rifle, skiing, fencing, swimming, tennis, golf, volleyball, gymnastics, water polo, hockey, and wrestling.

Clarkson University All-Time CoSIDA Academic All-District Selections

The duo joins Madison Kather (Women's Soccer), John Furcick (Men's Soccer), Rachael Aird (Volleyball), Kate Isaksen (Volleyball) and Madison Shea (Women's Basketball) as student-athletes to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2017-18. The seven student-athletes to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District notice are the most for Clarkson since 2014-15, and it marks the fifth time in the past seven years (and sixth overall) that Clarkson has seen seven athletes win selection in one school year.

Brosseau, who owns a flawless 4.00 grade-point average while majoring in Business, was one of only two sophomores on the All-District 1 team and one of only five hockey players across all eight districts to be named to the At-Large team. An assistant captain in just his second year with the program, Brosseau scored 33 points on 11 goals and 22 assists, skating in 40 games overall. He notched six power-play goals, tying for second on the team, while his 33 points and 22 assists ranked third among Golden Knights.

Conroy, who also has a perfect 4.00 grade-point average with a major in Electrical Engineering, posted a 77.21 scoring average through 14 rounds in the Fall of 2017 and Spring of 2018. Among his 14 rounds, he shot 80 or below 10 times, including six sub-75 rounds. At the Liberty League Championships in late-April, Conroy led the Golden Knights with a three-day score of 241, tying for 13th among the 35 competitors.

Both Brosseau and Conroy will advance to the national ballot, with those choice being announced in a few weeks.
