CU Volleyball Preview - at Arcadia/Washington/Franklin & Marshall (10/12-13)

Off one week from conference play, the Clarkson University Volleyball team will take its reprieve from Liberty League play in Pennsylvania, as the Golden Knights will take on three teams from the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The Series: This will be the first time that Clarkson plays any of these three opponents.

Key Stats for Clarkson (9-8): Junior outside hitter Maddie Bredehoeft has provided the Golden Knights with a lift on both offense and defense since returning from injury as she averaged 2.70 kills and 5.40 digs per set, scoring 13 kills and 23 digs against St. Lawrence last Tuesday. Clarkson remains among the national leaders on defense, averaging 21.64 digs per set and 1.92 blocks per set. Junior Kate Isaksen added 83 more digs to her season last week and is second in the nation in that category at 7.80 digs per set.

Key Stats for Arcadia (17-5): Maddie Sehrt may not have any specific number that jumps out, but all of them add up to a solid season. Sehrt is averaging 1.99 kills per set with a .331 hitting percentage and her 70 total blocks (22 solo) give her 0.91 per set. The Knights average 2.11 aces per set (175 total), but their aggressiveness comes at a cost of 221 service errors, nearly 50 more points given away than they've achieved. Lauren Enfield and Shannon Ryan are the team's top hitters with 2.61 kills and 2.57 kills per set, respectively.

Key Stats for Washington College (7-12): Digs are distributed pretty evenly for the Cardinals as Abby Smith is the team leader with 2.98 per set to go along with her 1.81 kills per game. Cassie Kowalski leads the team with 2.20 kills per set and also tossed in 2.75 digs per set. Jenna Dannoras and Isabella Sansanelli are each averaging close to a block per set, with both producing 0.88 per set.

Key Stats for Franklin & Marshall (16-5): Setter Grace Maggiore is producing solid numbers across the board on offense and defense, posting 8.91 assists per set, 2.83 digs per set and 0.71 aces per set (53 total). She distributes the ball most frequently to Allison Franke and Barbara Kapustin, who are averaging 2.56 kills per set and 2.37 kills per set, respectively, with Franke hitting .269. Carly Ostrowski is the team's top defender with 3.25 digs per set.
