CU Women's Soccer Preview - vs. Oswego State/Utica (9/15-16)

The non-league portion of the 2017 schedule will be at a virtual end after this weekend for the Clarkson University Women's Soccer team as the games against Oswego State and Utica will be the last warm ups prior to the Golden Knights taking on Liberty League opponents in nine of their final 10 regular season contests.

The Series vs. Oswego State: The Lakers are the final SUNYAC team that the Golden Knights will face this year, as Clarkson has taken on half the league. Oswego State owns a 25-2 records all-time against Clarkson, including a 1-0 win in 2016. The Knights last won in 2003.

The Series vs. Utica College: Clarkson has enjoyed better success against the Pioneers than its other opponent this weekend, owning an 11-5-1 all-time mark against Utica. Last year, Utica was the first opponent of the season for Clarkson, and the Knights won 3-1.

Key Stats for Clarkson: Sophomore Camryn Careccia leads the Knights with three goals through five games this season. Coincidentally, her first collegiate goal came against Utica last season.

Key Stats for Oswego State: The Lakers have dominated their opponents on the scoreboard (9-1) and other spots on the stat sheet. Although most of Oswego's goals came in a 7-0 win over Morrisville State, the team is nevertheless controlling play, enjoying a 97-10 edge in shots with a 41-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Key Stats for Utica: After starting the season scoreless through three games, Utica has tallied six times in the last two, with Morrisville State also coming up short on a 5-0 defeat. Allison Wagner has played exceedingly well in goal for the Pioneers, sporting a 0.38 goals against average with a .953 save percentage.
