Led by ninth-year head coach Matt Desrosiers and assistant coaches Britni Smith and Tony Maci, the Golden Knights have a 13-3-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0-0 ECAC Hockey record. Clarkson is currently riding a 12-game unbeaten streak and are coming off winning the Windjammer Classic title.

• Clarkson opened the Windjammer Classic with a 3-3 tie against Robert Morris, with the Golden Knights advancing to the championship thanks to a shootout victory. The Golden Knights then defeated host Vermont 3-1 to earn the title. Cassidy Vinkle was named the Tournament MVP and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by Michaela Pejzlova
• Vinkle was one of five Clarkson players with multiple points in the Windjammer Classic. Vinkle had an assist against Robert Morris and then scored the game-winning goal against Vermont. Also scoring against Vermont was classmates Loren Gabel and Kelly Mariani. Emma Keenan added an assist in both games, giving her three straight games with a point, the longest active Clarkson streak.
• Co-captain Cayley Mercer added two points in the tie with Robert Morris on a goal and an assist. Mercer leads the team with 21 points and 137 career points. Mercer is now tied with teammate Erin Ambrose '16 for fourth all-time at Clarkson. Right behind Mercer is Rhyen McGill who has 19 points as well as assistant captain Genevieve Bannon who has 17 points. Bannon leads the team with three game-winning goals.
• Bannon is also tied for the lead with four power-play goals. Also joining her with four are Loren Gabel and Josiane Pozzebon while McGill is one behind with three of her own.
• Coming into the weekend, Clarkson is second nationally in scoring offense, averaging 3.78 goals per game. The Golden Knights have increased that total in conference games, where they have scored 5.38 goals per game, the best mark in ECAC Hockey. St. Lawrence on the other hand, has been led by its defense. The Saints have allowed just 0.81 goals per game, the best average in the country. St. Lawrence has given up just two goals against eight conference opponents for a 0.25 goals per game average.
• The games could be decided by special teams. Clarkson is able to convert 18.6% of its power-plays, good for seventh in the country. The Golden Knights have been successful on 37.5% of extra man opportunities in conference, the best mark. St.Lawrence has been dominant on the penalty kill, with a 94.5% mark overall and 100% in conference. That puts the Saints first in the nation and in conference.
•Clarkson and St. Lawrence have already met twice this season. St. Lawrence earned a 2-1 home win, before the two teams battled to a 3-3 tie in Cheel Arena. The 3-3 tie is the last time that St. Lawrence has given up multiple goals in a game, and the Saints are on a five game shutout streak. Clarkson has not been shut out all season and has scored at least three goals in its last 12 games, going 11-0-1 in that span.
•St. Lawrence has a 15-0-1 overall record and is also a perfect 8-0-0 in conference. The Saints have won 12 in a row since tying Clarkson. St. Lawrence's 2-1 win over Clarkson snapped a seven game winless  streak against Clarkson. Even with the win though, Clarkson is 13-3-2 in the last 16 games between the two teams and the Golden Knights lead the series 20-18-6. Mercer and Bannon have both produced exceptionally against the Saints, with Mercer racking up 15 points and Bannon adding 10 in 14 career games.
