Potsdam, NY - Freshman Christine Wright (Watertown, NY) kept the Clarkson University Women's Lacrosse team's offense hot on a bitterly cold day, as the Golden Knights won for the second time this weekend with a 13-3 victory over Keuka College on Sunday afternoon at Hantz Turf Field.

The Golden Knights improved to 3-0 on the season with the victory, while Keuka saw its record evened at 1-1. Clarkson will now go to more a hospitable climate this week, traveling for a pair of non-league games in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Wright scored an unassisted goal just 24 seconds into the game as Clarkson never trailed in the contest. The freshman added another at the 26:57 mark and the Knights enjoyed a 4-0 lead less than 12 minutes into the game, forcing a Keuka timeout. Though Clarkson's offense was stymied briefly and the Storm added a pair of goals to their total to cut into the Knights advantage, Wright scored again with just six seconds to go for a 5-2 edge at the half.

Wright scored the first two goals of the second half for the Knights in the first six-plus minutes and the Knights never looked back, with seniors Alyssa Cristaldi (North Syracuse, NY) and Katie VanDeValk (Baldwinsville, NY) pushing the lead to a nearly insurmountable summidway through the second half. With several substitutes in, Clarkson continued to tack on goals as sophomore Danielle Tani (Heuvelton,, NY) scored twice in the final 10 minutes, including the last score down a player, to give Clarkson a double-digit victory.

Clarkson owned a 23-17 edge in shots, putting 18 of those attempts on the cage, and held a 28-19 advantage in groundballs. Clarkson's defense was also strong in the contest, causing numerous turnovers. VanDeValk caused six turnovers and scooped up nine groundballs while adding a goal and an assist offensively, and Wright also had seven groundballs and caused three miscues as well.

Cristaldi, Tani, and Danielle Faivus (Oswego, NY) each scored two goals, while senior Nicole Kelly (Syracuse, NY) contributed three assists. Marissa Mastronardi (Cortland, NY) also tallied a goal for the Golden Knights. For Keuka, Taylor Smith scored twice and Maggie Bonafede accounted for the other goal.

Junior goalkeeper Kara DiNatale (Auburn, NH) made seven saves in the contest, allowing just two goals in 54-plus minutes, and Stephanie Lynch (Baldwinsville, NY) made one save in relief. For Keuka, Molly Hogan made four stops and Korie Fitzgerald made one save.
