Blue Jackets Name Jarmo Kekalainen General Manager

The Columbus Blue Jackets have made history by hiring former Clarkson University Hockey standout Jarmo Kekalainen of Finland as the first European to become a general manager in the National Hockey League.

Kekalainen played two seasons for the Golden Knights from 1987-89. He was named to the ECAC First All-Star Team after tallying 19-25-44 and 47 penalty minutes in 31 games during the 1988-89 season. Kekalainen played 63 games overall for Clarkson, recording 62 points (26-36) in 63 games.
